I am an associate lecturer at Griffith University, in the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Engineering. In 1999, I completed a PhD at the Queensland University of Techonology.
My phd thesis, New distributional fitting methods applied to the asymmetric lambda distribution, was concerned with finding better ways of fitting the asymmetric lambda distribution to data. This also improved the methods for approximating other distributions using the gld. My supervisor was Dr Helen MacGillivray.
More details on my research, including programs to implement some of these statistical methods is available here.

The pirate Paolo Uccello page is my tribute to the real Paolo Uccello page, which is produced by James Hurst. Have a look at it now! |
A number of the courses here in the environmental faculty at Griffith are using the web to teach. Have a look at what we're doing.
The Environmental Faculty's web site here at Griffith contains some very useful content. One example was Eberhard Wenzel's Public Health entry in the WWW virtual library (now on a different server).
I am also interested in other things besides statistics. Have a look here to find out.
There is some useful mathematical stuff available on the web, but admitedly you have to look for a bit to find it. This link is a collection of sites I've found useful.
This is my PGP public key. (see this for more information on PGP)
As well as this homepage, I have two pages at QUT. There is My homepage at QUT. There is also my standard (or regulation) page. This follows the same format as for all PhD students at QUT mathematics, showing supervisor and thesis topic.
If you're Annoyed by the scrolling messages some web authors put accross the status line, join my campaign against them.
